Jason DaSilva, age 30
When were you diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS)?
I was diagnosed in 2005. I was 26.
What helps you deal with your diagnosis?
Telling stories through film. It's a form of art therapy. Right now I'm telling my story of dealing with MS in a film called When I Walk.
What makes you angry?
I get angry at the symptoms of MS, though I know it's no real use. I generally try to be patient.
What were some of the challenges you faced making the film?
Well, it's not done yet. The ongoing challenge is confronting something so hard to deal with and making it public.
Who inspires you?
The people closest to me and others who are trying to surpass insurmountable odds.
